Fanfarlo's debut album Reservoir isn't better than Mandala or The Satanic Satanist, so it wouldn't shake up my aught-nine list too much. But it's fucking marvelous nonetheless. I'm really bad at comparisons but I'm gonna try it anyway - they sound like a mix of Arcade Fire and Okkervil River but with better vocals (in my opinion) and more interesting instrumentation and a better sense of melody and harmony.
Nothing like discovering a band on ... the radio ...
